Combining my interpretation of ironies found in contemporary society with musings from my personal journals, I paint reflections of life in an intense palette contrasting the lighthearted with the serious. Captioned in French, the viewer experiences my work in layers; the words are both part of the background and if translated, are tertiary comments on the mood of the painting. By this I strive to evoke a deep, personal involvement with the process and properties of my art.
